Scope Of Work
Gulf Building and Hernandez Consulting have teamed up with James A Cummings as the SDVO partner providing Project Management for the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for the new Veteran’s Administration Medical Complex in Orlando Florida. This new 52,000 SF CEP is constructed using tilt-up concrete walls and a structural steel frame. It services the entire VA Medical Complex which is located on an 65 acre site and includes a 2,000,000 SF Hospital, a 120 Bed Community Living Center, a Chapel, a 60 Bed Domiciliary, a 65,000 SF Warehouse Building and two 1,110 Car Parking Garages.
The CEP services includes eight (8) Emergency Generators with a total of 20,000 KW prime and standby power and all related Paralleling Electrical Switchgear; five (5) Chillers and related Cooling Towers with a total of 8,000 tons capacity; three (3) Boilers with 2,259 boiler HP; a 2,000,000 gallon concrete water tank and a 208,000 gallon underground fuel storage system. This is a blast resistant facility and includes perimeter security and sound walls. This facility is designed and being constructed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
