This year’s Alan Greenberg Award winner, Steve Dalene, was a member of Carpet One Floor & Home’s Advisory Council. His Business – Dalene Flooring Carpet One Floor & Home – was started in 1949, and Steve is part of the fourth generation of Dalene’s who are actively involved in the business, that is over 66 years!
Steve is very active with his Regional Network Group (RNG), taking a leadership role in creating custom trainings and installer certifications. He invests in training to help his employees grow both personally and professionally. Employees are treated as family members and customers are treated as friends.
Steve’s stores have been awarded Best In Flooring, by Best of Hartford Magazine for five consecutive year.
Steve is also involved in his local community. He spearheaded a Homes for the Troops house in Ellington for a wounded vet and contributes yearly to the local community through the sponsorship of many youth organizations, Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army and Susan G. Komen Foundation.
As an active participant in the Home Builder’s Association (HBA), Steve helps organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Channel 3 kids camp. His stores have partnered with Building For America’s Bravest to construct a home for Stephen Valyou in Millerton, NY.
He is joined at work by his wife, Micky; son, Rich and daughter, Alexi. He also works with his two sisters, several nephews and extended family that work throughout the business. He is a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren.
