Scope Of Work
Mid-City has been selected as the electrical contractor for the AEP Transmission Project in New Albany, Ohio. At this new construction site, our electricians have been working alongside the project team to create a 196,000 square-foot, two-wing office space to accommodate 650 cubicles and 50 offices. The new space, which will pursue LEED Certification, will provide its 700 employees a variety of impressive amenities, including a full-service cafeteria, gym, locker room, and car charging stations, as well as a conference center, several break rooms, and meeting space.
As the project’s electrical and teledata contractor, our scope of work includes all site work, power, lighting, fire alarm, data and security rough-in, and temperature control wiring. The energy-saving lighting system will support the Owner’s goal of achieving LEED certification, as lighting will be controlled by the amount of natural light that the building receives, allowing the occupants to use less energy during peak sunlight hours. It’s a truly sophisticated system. Vehicle charging stations that our team is installing will also work towards the LEED initiative.
Despite the cold and muddy weather brought on by spring, and now winter, and a two-month acceleration in the project schedule, we are on track to complete the AEP Transmission Project on time and within budget in June 2016.
