Scope Of Work

Totaling 16,498 square feet and situated on a 2.7-acre site, the Lubbock Texas Temple is the second temple constructed by SpawGlass for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The exterior is composed of stone from two quarries in China. Grey granite forms the base around the perimeter of the temple, and 13,000 pieces of white granite stone form the remainder. Handmade steel window frames from New York and handmade decorative art glass from England accentuate the exterior of the temple. The lavish interior of the temple features 53 rooms, including training rooms, a celestial room and an office for the president of the temple. One of the most ornate features of the temple is located in the baptism room. The baptismal font is held on the backs of 12 full-size, gold leaf oxen made of fiberglass. A 10-foot statue of Angel Moroni, composed of fiberglass with a 24-karat gold leaf finish, tops the spire of the temple.
