Scope Of Work
The Boyd County Middle School project was bid and constructed utilizing the construction management agency form of construction contract delivery. Trace Creek served as construction manager for the project under direct contract with the Boyd County Board of Education.
Trace Creek completed a major renovation of an existing 106,000-square-foot facility with a new 4,500-square-foot addition for flexible career spaces and cargo labs. Trace Creek performed significant demolition activities to change the footprint of the building. The project included foundation remediation for the gymnasium, the removal and replacement of existing masonry gym walls and the installation of new bleachers. New finishes and new door packages were added throughout, and security vestibules were implemented to increase the safety of students, faculty and staff.
Trace Creek performed a complete renovation of electrical and mechanical systems and installed a new building management system to control all mechanical/electrical systems. The entire building was re-roofed and parking was expanded and improved by resurfacing the existing parking lot and adding a completely new lot. As part of the project, Trace Creek performed major storm drainage work and implemented retaining walls.
Total project amount was approximately $25,000,000, with a duration of 25 months.
