Our Story
Day Precision Wall has been a well established foundation contractor in Cincinnati market since 1953. Specializing in forming concrete ie: footings, basement walls, poured retaining walls, machine bases, tank / equipment foundations, bridge foundations, basically anything that requires formwork. Our customer base spans from small residential additions and large custom homes to large factories and schools.
Total stations are used to accurately layout column bolt patterns on commercial applications and wall lines on complicated residential houses. We strive for a perfect foundation, so our jobs are always keep square and plumb. Unlike other companies we keep our employees long term, which in return gives our customers a more consistent product. All of our foreman have 20 – 40 years experience with us. Our foundation work is the standard in which all others are measured.
Day Precision Wall was founded in April of 1953 by Joseph Day. He had already been pouring flatwork for 20 years when he came across a new formwork system out in the market called rocforms, which is a wood panel system. So he bought a set of forms and the company was born. In those times most foundations were poured with 1 by 6s which were then used on the subfloor or roof. This new system of reusable forms was quicker and easier to work with. This gave our customers a higher quality product at a more affordable price. We still use rocforms today along with other forming systems like Symons, which have a metal base and wood face.
We have been family owned and operated business for 3 generations. James Day ran the company from inception till 1976. Through James and Joseph's leadership the company grew to 50 employees within the first 20 years. James Day left to pursue other entrepreneurial ventures and left Robert & Fuz” Leesman and Sam Hirst to lead the company. Fuz passed away in 1992 and Jim Carter took over his position of field superintendent. Jim Carter retired in 2003 and his spot was filled by Jerry Hamilton who is our current field superintendent. Sam Hirst retired in 2010 leaving his position for Bradley C. Day, current general manager.
