RSI’s President and Senior Geophysicist, Doria Kutrubes, M.Sc., P.G., Geophysical Engineering, has been designing and conducting geophysical surveys for the engineering, geotechnical, and infrastructure industries for over 29 years. Included in her achievements, Ms. Kutrubes wrote the Standard Operating Procedures for ground penetrating radar (GPR), and helped draft similar SOPs for magnetometry, electromagnetic, and resistivity methods, for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. These SOPs are currently used as the industry standard in Massachusetts. Ms. Kutrubes has also been instrumental in the development and testing of GPR-processing and imaging programs, such as RADAN©, produced by GSSI (the world’s leading GPR manufacturer), GPR-Slice© (Geophysical Archaeometry Laboratory), and DECAR© (Infrasense).
Through her leadership, RSI was the first GPR company in New England to implement GPS-guided navigation for GPR and other Geophysical surveys, first to implement 3D GPR imaging technique, and the first commercial company in the United States to implement depth-slice processing using GPR-Slice©, which is now the industry standard in GPR image processing. Currently, Ms. Kutrubes sits on two FHWA Transportation Research SHRP2 Research Boards, assessing the latest technologies and approaches for mapping concrete deterioration and the other for mapping buried utilities.
