12,174 office, 4,626 warehouse
To create Climatec’s new Houston branch, GSD demoed the entire office interior leaving only the perimeter. Two conference rooms with frosted privacy glass and formal offices line the perimeter, while the center of the space features open cubicles, break out areas, and laptop counters. Also, a portion of the original warehouse was absorbed to create a training and education center, complete with technology.
But one challenging aspect of the project is a detail that goes unnoticed. Plans called for the interior ceilings to be raised twelve inches to update and open the office space. GSD extended the original wall height and dropped in a new ceiling grid.
