Byall Homes, Inc.

Byall Homes was founded in 1979 by Maurie and Rosi Byall.  Maurie started his construction career in 1973 working for a local home building company, starting out learning concrete construction and then moving on to his favorite trade, finish carpentry. Then to complete his hands-on training, he moved to another company to learn framing, all while mixing in classes in construction technology at IPFW in Fort Wayne. Another integral part of Byall Homes’ success has been Superintendent Doug Blaugh, who started working for the company just 7 months after its inception. Doug took the same career path as Maurie, working for the same company doing concrete and finish carpentry, and then moving on to work for the highly respected firm of Worthman Homes before coming to work at Byall Homes. Both Doug and Maurie’s job duties have really evolved over the years. When the company started in 1979, the building industry was going through a mild recession. With interest rates at all time highs, much of the construction the company did at that time was remodeling, some small commercial, and even some agriculture related buildings.  Rosi has been Office Manager, Secretary, Treasurer, and the organizing force in the office since the company was started.  She continues to do many of those same duties as well as her full time job as a local high school treasurer.

Along with Maurie, Rosi, and Doug, Byall Homes has two master craftsmen on staff.  Gregg Ziegel has been with the company almost twenty years and Rick Ford moved here from Michigan where he worked on homes in the exclusive Bay Harbor area. Also part of the staff is Amy Perlich who is currently working part time to help Rosi with some of her office management tasks. We are also very proud of our subcontractors, as they have the same philosophy we do. We have three different framing crews, two very talented finish carpentry crews, and a drywall crew that is second to none. Our painting contractor is very conscientious and careful to get the exact look the customer is expecting.
