Scope Of Work
Overview
To support compliance with the EPA’s Coal Combustion Residuals Rule (CCR), Duke Energy’s East Bend Station installed a new under-boiler SFC, and completed various water redirects on site.
Project Challenges:
This project was a large part of a major plant overhaul. Bowen coordinated with multiple onsite contractors to conduct work safely for ontime completion. Stacking of craft in confined areas was of concern and took careful coordination and leadership to ensure efficient work.
The project work completed by Bowen was located throughout the plant site and required careful coordination with plant operations.
Bowen Resourceful:
Working with Bowen Consulting Group, Bowen developed a plan to assemble the SFC outside of the boiler house, and skated it in using a rail system.
Bowen made use of remote control demolition equipment to ensure the demolition phase of the project was completed safely.
Bowen Responsive:
Bowen worked to complete as much scope as possible ahead of the outage to mitigate safety hazards.
Bowen Results:
Bowen completed the outage on schedule
