Scope Of Work
Memorial Regional Hospital South, located on Washington Street in Hollywood, is now part of Memorial Healthcare System. The hospital offers the community vital services including a variety of medical/surgical services. The Emergency Department provides treatment 24 hours a day. William R. Nash, Inc. began work at the hospital July 1, 2008. The completion date was estimated for April 30, 2009. The project consists of a 27,000 square foot remodel of an existing fifth floor wing. The rooms are being converted to semi-private rehabilitation patient rooms. Memorial is shifting all of the South Broward Hospital District rehabilitation patients to this specific hospital. The project equipment scope is as follows: one new Triplex booster pump, two 2 million each BTU/HR Lochinvar boilers, two new 5300 CFM AHUs. One of the obstacles they faced during the project was the routing of the chilled water piping from the west side of the first floor CEP to the east side of the building down a major occupied corridor. They also had to coordinate their work activities around the patients and hospital staff so they would interrupt them as little as possible. The Senior Project Manager is Kris Youlden and the Superintendent is Jesse Johnson. The General Contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction.
