Scope Of Work
The state-of-the-art Gately Indoor Track and Field complex is a first of its kind in Chicago, and one of only a handful of hydraulically operated banked track systems in the country. Located in the City’s historic Pullman community, the 139,000 sf facility is home to a six-lane hydraulically banked 200-meter running track, volleyball and basketball courts, and a seating capacity of 3,500. The exterior design matches the integrity of the classic structures in the surrounding neighborhood while incorporating modern touches.
The project, which is also the base of operations for After School Matters, should serve as a model of collaboration between public and private entities, as well as non-profit organizations, as it provides space that is not only significant in its stated functionality, but also enhances the quality of life for the community, and provided opportunities for disadvantaged firms to participate in the design and construction of the project.
