Scope Of Work
Morrison Tower, a twelve story residential home for students of The Ohio State University, opened its doors in September 1962. The OSU Board of Trustees named the building in memory of Mary Franc Morrison, the first women to receive a degree from the University. During a renovation and building update, TP Mechanical was hired for the Lead HVAC contract and fan coil replacement.
The residence hall is located on the south side of campus and houses many first-year students. Some of the building’s amenities include: air conditioning, kitchen facilities, study areas, laundry facilities and a lounge area. This building is also home to the International House Learning Community, which exposes students to various global experiences.
The project duration was 90 days, so the TP Mechanical team offered creative solutions to demo the old HVAC material and install the new equipment in a timely manner, while adhering to our strict safety standards. In an effort to minimize onsite waste and to meet a demanding construction schedule, the TP Mechanical team chose to prefabricate the new equipment in our ISO-certified fabrication facility, while simultaneously removing the old onsite HVAC system.
TP Mechanical installed 328 FCUs and 3 AHUs on this $1.1 million project. Our work also included the installation of miscellaneous pumps and HVAC specialties, as well.
