Scope Of Work
The Western Hills | Dater High School project, located at 2144 Ferguson Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, started October 2010 and was completed in March 2013 with a total construction value of $51,716,340. TP Mechanical was contracted for the plumbing portion of this renovation.
During the construction renovation of this project, the school remained open and occupied, which meant the project had to be completed in phases. This was tricky at times because we were replacing the piping while making sure the students and staff still had running water. We were able to accomplish this by prefabricating restroom carriers; gas piping, domestic water piping, and the domestic water heaters in our fabrication facility and shipping it to the job site. By utilizing pre-fabrication, we were able to meet our tight schedule and cause minimal distractions to the occupants.
TP Mechanical was proud to be a part of the Cincinnati Public Schools’ Facilities Master Plan – a $1 billion plan to rebuild and renovate every CPS school, creating an exciting collection of uniquely designed buildings for students and the community.
Cincinnati Public Schools included environmentally friendly elements to its school construction, creating “green” buildings that are models of efficiency and conservation. CPS will seek the LEED Silver certification for two dozen buildings in the master plan, including Western Hills | Dater High School building.
By informing the students and public to “green” features of each building, the district also hopes to use the green buildings as a science lesson and generate awareness for this generation of students become advocates for sustainability for the future.
