Scope Of Work

Summit led the engineering design for the rehabilitation of 10 miles of interstate in Warren County to the  state line. The project features unbonded concrete overlay of the existing pavement with upgrades to the roadway profile and superelevation. The design included improvements to substandard typical section criteria and inadequate drainage conditions along the corridor, and realignment of an existing on-ramp to lengthen the acceleration lane and taper. Summit provided all roadway design, design coordination, and project management, and managed subconsultant services for hydraulic/drainage and transportation management plan (TMP) design. Summit staff developed the construction phasing that was carried through TMP design. Additionally, Summit assisted NCDOT in coordinating VDOT approval of plans, and development and approval of contract provisions and the state-to-state agreement.
