Scope Of Work
Summit is the lead CEI firm for the 16-mile US 17 widening project from of Belgrade to the US 17 New Bern Bypass in Division 2. Summit is staffing a Project Manager and 12 CEI technicians, which includes lead Tech IV inspectors over roadway and structures. The $143M project consists of over 4.8 million yards of borrow, 300,000 tons of asphalt, numerous utility relocations, 25 bridges and one culvert. This includes two dual 1,200-foot structures over the White Oak and Trent Rivers. Summit and Gannett Fleming are also collaborating on the Maysville Bypass as well. Our engineers and technicians were hand-selected for this project based off of their proven team cohesion on a previous project. We were able to build around our strengths and weaknesses to form a team specifically suited for the Maysville Bypass. Our team members’ familiarity with each other allows them to assist each other more efficiently, and tackle tough project issues effectively.
