Scope Of Work

Setterlin was awarded the construction contract for the City of Columbus’s new Wyandot Lodge, part of the McKnight Outdoor Education Center. The existing Wyandot Lodge was outdated and would have required extensive abatement and renovation. Additionally, the City wished to better utilize the park’s prime location on the west bank of the Scioto River. Because of this, it was decided to construct a new lodge to not only serve as the focal point of the Center, but also to generate additional revenue by serving as an event rental facility.

The lodge includes multi-purpose space, a science room, activity room, an office, a kitchen, quite room, and restrooms. The facility is unique as it was designed to meet Net Zero Energy, meaning that it will self-capture the necessary energy to operate over the course of the year. To assist in lowering the energy needs, multiple green building features were implemented throughout the facility, from geothermal heating to the orientation of the building itself.

As the single-prime contractor, Setterlin was responsible for all scopes
