Doing what inspires you every day is a gift. When you share that gift
with others, you give your inspiration meaning. My parents taught me
those lessons, not from anything they said, but from what they did.
When I was a child growing up on a small farm, my father, Max and I
were always building SOMETHING. It didn’t matter what it was. If we
could envision it, we were building it. It was a joyful experience
then and the feeling remains with me today.
My mother Phyllis, enriched me in a different way. My memories of her
are of always having a tape measure, drafting paper and a straight
edge. With these tools she would endlessly be designing a kitchen,
living room, or any part of three residences I watched her build, and
enjoyed being raised in. During that time, I was instilled with my
mother’s love of design and architecture and the satisfaction of
bringing a home to life. It was a wonderful time and those memories
are the cornerstone for the company we have built today. The wisdom
and guidance of my parents is always with me and with every home I
build or remodel.
