Scope Of Work
Daytona Rising is a $400 million conversion of the ‘World Center of Racing’, with upgraded suites, amenities, and fan experience rivaling any premier professional sports stadium. The project included over 1oo ironworkers and 7 crawler cranes working simultaneously across the 7/8 mile long grandstand, continuously fed by a nearby 30-acre steel laydown lot. Erection engineering plans were constantly updated to ensure stability during the demolition, and also to take into account the possibility of hurricanes along the Atlantic coast with only a few days notice. Structural steel was supplied by a team consisting of SteelFab, Inc facilities in Roanoke, Alabama, and Dublin, Georgia. Some components, such as the specialty lightweight SPS panel floor system for the 50 new luxury suites, were supplied from as far away as Busan, South Korea.
