Design Build
Mitsubishi Power project in Savannah, Ga. consisted of a 30,000 SF office, a 140,000 SF facility to repair turbine parts, and an 88,000 SF high bay building to refurbish turbines. The project was awarded on a design build basis where we guaranteed the price based on a preliminary design. We had our first design meeting in late October and started steel erection 17 weeks later. The manufacturing buildings have 60- 0 to 90-0 clear span requirements, heavy cranes and hook heights that reach up to 60-0. The total project consisted of 2,566 tons of structural steel and bar joist.
