Scope Of Work
This was a ground up project for the Yavapai County Public Health Department. The building was conceived to meet the health and dental needs of the people in the Yavapai County. This plan included a full service medical clinic and dental operatory along with file storage and administrative offices.
The construction of the building was predominately structural masonry with a few accent areas using structural steel framing. The exterior skin of the building was EIFS with a natural flagstone wainscot. In a time when cultured stone is the norm, the natural flagstone laid up by truly skilled stone masons was a striking addition to the building. The roof structure of the central open area of the building was constructed with exposed steel “bow string” trusses and clear T & G pine decking above. This exposed area of the roof was covered with a standing seam metal roof that accented the other exterior finishes.
The interior design was typical for this kind of facility: welded sheet vinyl flooring with integral cove base, smooth finished laminate cabinetry and easily maintained finishes throughout. The dental operatory was a fully functioning facility with all the latest in dental equipment and technology. The overall look of the building blended in beautifully with the surrounding buildings in this section of Yavapai County.
