DPI Quality Custom Finishes

In the year 2000, Debner Painting, Inc. was founded. Mark Debner started this small company with the desire to see it grow. Among many years of quality service in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding areas Debner Painting was moving forward with this goal. Mark’s idea for his company goal was to get the jobs done in accurate time, with top quality, and professionalism.

Mark Debner had the opportunity to purchase “Chew’s Painting and Staining”. In 2008, Mark and his wife Shannon began DPI Quality Custom Finishes that combined Debner Painting, Inc. (on-site painting and staining) and Chew’s Painting and Staining (pre-finishes). In this transition DPI Quality Custom Finishes retained the staff from Chew’s and added more positions in the office and field division. The game plan was to address all the finishing needs on residential and commercial projects.

Six short months after moving into the former Chew’s facility, the flood of 2008 took the business plan that would have guided operations for the next two to three years and “washed it down river”. Working with over 20 employees, a business acquisition, and a local disaster DPI Quality Custom Finishes was poised to continue operating through a sluggish economy or not. The strong work ethic throughout DPI Quality Custom Finishes operations helped the company persevere through the trying time.

Between June 2008 and January 2009, DPI Quality Custom Finishes had moved 3 times and is now in their new location, 1402 18th Street SW, Cedar Rapids. Some parts of the forced change have been positive with increased technology in the office and shop. Mark and Shannon have made a commitment to recover and thrive following a huge curve ball that was thrown their way.

Today, you can see that DPI Quality Custom Finishes is still going strong. The eco friendly products that DPI Quality Custom Finishes uses have been welcomed by many home owners, business owners and contractors which have kept us moving forward.
