Scope Of Work
The successful founders of Southern Hospitality of Adams Morgan ventured to open a new restaurant and bar in the up and coming Navy Yard neighborhood of Southeast DC and donned it Scarlet Oak. This spacious New American eatery offers an innovative, seasonal menu and craft cocktails, and vivid modern art paintings enliven the pale-toned decor. A long curved bar, and scarlet-rendered tufted banquettes, amplify the sophisticated new hot spot along the Capital Riverfront.
rand* was brought on as the General Contractor to deliver the restaurant and bar, complete with a full kitchen, in a 16-week schedule. The demanding scope of work mandated the expertise and flexibility of an incredibly nimble project team. Beginning with the demolition of the existing space, the entire bar and restaurant had to be built back with all new interior walls, a new HVAC system, an all new commercial kitchen and bar, restrooms, and all furniture, fixtures and ceilings with a custom lighting package. rand* worked with the design team and the client during the process to ensure that the job was being built to the highest quality at the best value, and value engineering was a recurring theme at project team meetings. One item, a wooden wall feature required an “all hands on deck” approach to ensure that it fit the design, specifications, and aesthetic vision of the client. Through exceptional coordination and diligent communication with the entire project team, rand* was able to complete the entire scope of work prior to opening.
