Scope Of Work
This project included extensive demolition of the existing spray applied acoustical finish and plaster (including metal lath) of the 1923 gymnasium and mezzanine ceilings of the high school. Demolition also included temporary support of existing light fixtures, fire protection piping, and HVAC equipment. After demolition, new installation included a contiguous layer of drywall followed by installation of Tectum—brand sound acoustical panels. All new Tectum panels had to be field cut around existing HVAC and other ceiling penetrations. In conjunction with the new ceiling system, new fire sealant and painting at the perimeter was included. Finally, all new energy efficient lighting was installed.
