Scope Of Work
Princeton University asked Cyma to renovate the Astrophysics Department Building, which included bringing the building up to the current Building Code, infrastructure upgrades and architectural upgrades.
Infrastructure upgrades included sprinkler, HVAC and electrical replacement. Extensive architectural renovations and upgrades throughout the building included the demolition of a two story library to create a common meeting area with mezzanine and a structural glass floor balcony overlooking the common area was installed. A new three stop elevator to accommodate the lower level, main floor and mezzanine was incorporated into the project, as was removal/replacement of existing roof and installation of a gable skylight to create an atrium affect. The telescope room was converted to a state of the art meeting room and the removal of dome and associated mechanisms that housed the telescope were replaced with a new skylight with a new suspended telescope.
