Scope Of Work
The Capital City Office Complex is an office facility built for the State of Florida Department of Management Services and is the headquarters of the State of Florida Department of Revenue.
The scope of work included construction of the three buildings, a central energy plant and the installation of over three miles of underground chiller lines to serve the new buildings. The project is LEED Gold certified. These buildings are constructed of a composite metal deck and concrete slabs with a brick, cast stone and curtain wall skin.
Two of the buildings serve as general offices for the Department of Revenue and the third building houses a 600-workstation call center for the agency’s state call management system. The design of the building allows for both durability and efficiency.
Mike Scaringe, serving as project executive, led our management team and during preconstruction developed numerous value engineering items. Through a true team effort with DMS and the Design Team, the team’s value engineering enabled the project to ultimately incorporate many enhancements included on the wish list of the owner and designer. This provided not only a lower overall project cost but improved the finishes and system upgrades ultimately resulting in lower energy costs for the life of the building.
