Scope Of Work
North Carolina State Port Authority – Port of Wilmington South Gate Improvements is a challenging Heavy Civil Infrastructure Project that Civil Works Contracting is working on with Barnhill Contracting Company. Started in June 2020, CWC is performing a comprehensive sitework package including Erosion Control Measures, Demolition of existing underground Utilities and Pavement, Grading, New Fire and Domestic Waterlines, Gravity and Force Main Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, including an extensive Underground Storm Water Retention System, New Pavement, Markings, and Signage. Due to the proximity to the Cape Fear River, it’s tidal influence and structure elevations slightly above Sea Level, extensive dewatering systems have been necessary. The main entry to the Wilmington Port will be greatly improved with the expected Fall 2021 completion.
