Scope Of Work
The Haikey Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Flow Equalization Basin Improvements project included construction of a new influent diversion structure and a new 17 million gallon Flow Equalization Basin. A new Pre-Sedimentation Basin and Return Flow Pump Station with new 54 inch, 18 inch, and 36 inch piping were also included in the project scope. Improvements to the existing Disinfection Building and existing Flow Equalization Basin complete the facility.
Crossland Heavy was awarded the $9.247 million contract to execute the project scope listed above. The sheer size of the contract, paired with the tight, one year schedule presented numerous issues for our team. Coordinating carefully with the subcontractor, Crossland Construction Company, earthwork was completed for the new Flow Equalization Basin. Efforts included the excavation of 35,000 cubic yards of existing dirt and the hauling in of over 100,000 cubic yards to combine and construct the earth embankments.
