Rudolph & Sletten, Inc.

As president, Jon Foad is the corporate officer in charge of Rudolph and Sletten. He oversees all management aspects of the company's preconstruction, construction, finance, operations, business development and marketing. Mr. Foad provides leadership to project teams to ensure goals for schedule, cost and quality are met or exceeded.

Mr. Foad's tenure at Rudolph and Sletten spans over 30 years, beginning as a project engineer. He is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo's Construction Management program.

Marian Selvaggio has practiced law for 15 years, focusing on construction law. She has experience representing construction companies in all aspects of compliance and litigation, including advising in perfecting contractual positions, resolving disputes during all phases in the start-up and performance of major public and private construction projects and providing labor and employment advice.

Ms. Selvaggio is responsible for reviewing and negotiating all owner contracts, advising Rudolph and Sletten’s management regarding legal issues, and interacting and acting as a liaison between outside counsel and company management.

Ms. Selvaggio has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal courts, including the Court of Federal Claims, in private arbitrations and before administrative boards on matters involving: bid protests and other procurement and project delivery disputes; construction claims and requests for equitable adjustment; construction defects; subcontractor substitutions; lien, stop notice and bond remedies; insurance claims; and other matters of statutory and regulatory compliance. Ms. Selvaggio has developed an expertise in “false claims” litigation and has been the architect of numerous successful defense strategies in California and Federal False Claims Act cases, challenging the government’s theories of falsity.

Ms. Selvaggio is committed to green building design, construction, and operations, as evidenced by her LEED Green Associate credential. Ms. Selvaggio was also the architect of an initiative directed at networking women in the construction industry and was recognized for her efforts as a “Woman Making a Difference” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Education

Ms. Selvaggio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in social science from the University of California, Irvine and her Paralegal Certificate in Litigation from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, where she graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif (top 10 percent of the class). In law school, Ms. Selvaggio was a Henry C. Yuen Scholar in Law and Technology, an editor of the International and Comparative Law Review and a member of the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot, an international moot court competition, which competed in Vienna, Austria.

As chief executive officer, Martin Sisemore provides leadership in business development and in developing and implementing company-wide initiatives. Mr. Sisemore is a 36-year veteran of Rudolph and Sletten.

Mr. Sisemore, a registered Civil Engineer, attended the University of California, Davis.

Mike Mohrman has nearly 30 years of construction and estimating expertise, the majority of which has been with Rudolph and Sletten. As senior vice president and chief estimator, he is responsible for overseeing all the cost estimates and budgets for projects, from the conceptual estimates through the finalization of the GMP. Mr. Mohrman and his team of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical estimators prepare accurate and concise estimates and participate in the value analysis studies and construction document reviews throughout the course of design. He attends project meetings and works closely with the owner and architect to ensure that the project budgets are tracked and maintained.

Mr. Mohrman attended Kansas State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Howard brings 24 years of construction industry leadership, experience and business development acumen to his position as Vice President, San Diego Operations at R&S. In his role, Howard oversees all of our operations in the Greater San Diego area. He is also responsible for growing our firm’s market share by bringing our company’s full spectrum of building services to clients throughout the region.

Howard is recognized as a dynamic force within the construction industry in Southern California. He is lauded for his integrity, his commitment to providing the highest level of service to clients and for having excellent relationships with all project team members.

Howard has served R&S since 2000, when he joined our team as a Project Manager. Over the years, he has had a management role in more than $1 billion worth of contracts for projects in retail, hospitality, civic, justice, biotech, pharmaceutical, life science, entertainment and other industries. In his previous role, Howard managed contracts in all capacities such as CM at Risk , Design Build, Lump Sum  for projects such as the New San Diego Central Courthouse, Red Hawk Casino, Pechanga Resort & Casino, SeaWorld, Marriott, Extended Stay America, Auto Nation, Medtronics, Allecure, DexCom, Chemicon, Living Coast Discovery Center and UCSD.

Howard has a Bachelor of Science in construction management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). He is a LEED Accredited Professional, certified Lean Six Sigma from SDSU and certified as a DBIA Professional by the Design Build Institute of America,. He serves as a member of the board of directors for the Downtown San Diego Partnership and a member of the board of directors for the Construction Management Advisory Council at Cal Poly.

John is a proven leader who brings 25 years of industry experience with a reputation for honesty, integrity and a very high work ethic to his role as Vice President, Operations at Rudolph and Sletten. In his role, John is responsible for all of our company’s operations throughout the Greater Sacramento area and for growing our business in this region.

John’s achievements reflect his skill in creating win-win opportunities for clients and all project team members, alike. He revels in the highly technical nature of his work while also getting high marks for being a clear communicator and having a good sense of humor.

John’s expertise spans the civic, justice, life sciences, pharmaceutical, institutional, corporate and higher education market sectors as well as all major project delivery methods, including design-build, design-assist and CM At-Risk. John is also our company’s Sustainability Director, a role that allows him to grow and develop the company’s sustainability efforts in design and construction in an area that has mattered to him greatly over the years — lessening our industry’s impact on the planet.

John joined Rudolph and Sletten in 1994 as a Project Engineer. Over the years, he has always championed the company’s outstanding safety program and efforts to create the safest of jobsites. He is a sought-after mentor who wants to pass on knowledge to younger project engineers and project managers as they grow and advance in their careers.

Among John’s most notable and favorite projects are the Crocker Art Museum Expansion, Sonoma State Green Music Center, North Tahoe Middle/High School, NOAA Southwestern Fisheries Science Center, Sacramento Valley Station historic renovation and New O Street Office Building for the Department of General Services. 

John is passionate about Rudolph and Sletten giving back to the community. On a volunteer basis, he steps up to lead construction projects for organizations such as Rebuilding Together and the Children’s Crisis Nursery. He has been actively volunteering with Sacramento’s Roberts Family Development Center for nearly two decades.

John is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Professional. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of California, Davis.

As senior vice president of operations for Southern California, Rene Olivo provides additional oversight for projects throughout the region. As a part of the company’s Executive Steering Committee, Rene works closely with company leadership, primarily focusing on supporting each project team to ensure high standards and optimal value for project owners. He also spearheads the firm’s subcontractor diversity initiatives and project participation efforts with minority, women and veteran-owned business enterprises.

With more than 26 years of construction industry experience, Rene has made his career at Rudolph and Sletten, starting as an engineering intern on a cardiovascular healthcare project in Temecula. Since that time, he has moved into management and executive leadership roles, helping open the firm’s Irvine office in 1985 and building an impressive portfolio of work for the company. His resume encompasses notable projects for clients such as Amgen, Ahmanson Theatre, Hewlett Packard, Judicial Council of California, Kaiser Permanente, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, San Diego Zoo, Sharp Healthcare, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and UC San Diego, to name a few.

Experienced in Lean Construction principles, Rene holds a Professional Certificate in Lean Enterprise and a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and was named among the 2015 Top Influentials by the San Diego Daily Transcript.

In her role as Vice President of Business Development, Dianna is responsible for all aspects of business development including marketing and corporate communications oversight. Dianna, a 23-year veteran at Rudolph and Sletten, formerly served as Senior Business Development Executive for the Northern California Region.

As a senior executive with nearly 30 years of diverse experience in the construction industry, Dianna is responsible for securing new business and fostering relationships throughout Northern California that align with the objectives and strategies in support of Rudolph and Sletten’s overall corporate goals. Her commitment to establishing strong business development practices and policies at Rudolph and Sletten has had a positive and measurable impact on the company’s growth.

Dianna graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S. degree in Social Ecology and Psychology. She is actively involved in several industry and philanthropic organizations, including Rudolph and Sletten’s leadership in the American Heart Association “Hard Hats with Heart” Campaign, CoreNet Global, International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and Women in Construction Operations (WiOPS). On a personal level she is active with CASA of San Mateo County (Court Appointed Special Advocate) where she mentors children in the foster care system.  

Ray Polidoro, AIA, brings nearly three decades of architecture and construction industry leadership experience to his position as Vice President at Rudolph and Sletten. In his role, Ray helps increase the firm’s market share in the greater Los Angeles area by bringing Rudolph and Sletten’s full spectrum of building services to clients throughout Southern California.

A California native, Ray spent most of his career in downtown Los Angeles. His local knowledge is complemented by proven capabilities in the areas of architectural design and construction management services, business development, financial cost control management, strategic planning and organizational development.

Immediately prior to joining Rudolph and Sletten, Ray served as Manager of Design and Construction, Capital Program for the Judicial Council of California. His last project entailed managing the development and construction oversight for a new $555-million San Diego Central Courthouse—the largest project in the State of California’s $5 billion Judicial Branch Facilities Bond Program. In addition to judicial projects, Ray’s resume spans multiple public works and education programs, as well as large-scale commercial and residential development projects throughout Southern California and Hawaii.

Active in numerous professional organizations, Ray has served as Professional Practice Committee Member for the American Institute of Architects, as well as Student Outreach Committee Member, USC Liaison for the Construction Management Association of America. Ray is a Registered Architect in the State of California, is a LEED Accredited Professional and has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California.
