Scope Of Work

Barnhill Contracting Company partnered with Clark Nexsen to complete this multi-phase design-build project located in Research Triangle Park.  This project consisted of two phases of laboratory fitups. RTI International Laboratories is one of the leading independent, nonprofit research and development organizations in the world, and their expertise includes health and pharmaceuticals, education and training, advanced technology, energy and the environment, and laboratory and chemistry services. Programmatically, the project consisted of a diverse range of spaces including chemistry labs, microscopy rooms, growth chambers, tissue culture rooms, a nuclear magnetic resonance lab and offices. Flexibility was critical during this project, therefore, much of the casework was designed to be mobile, allowing user groups to expand and contract as needed. Each phase of the project was schedule-critical, and Barnhill successfully completed the project to exceed the owner’s expectations.
