New York City, NY
Approx Contract:
$2,000,000
Status:
Completed
Structure Type:
Non-Residential Building

Scope Of Work

At the corner of 76th street & Amsterdam in New York City sits the prestigious Samuel Priest Rose Building, a 137,000 square foot building housing the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan – a community staple and beacon for Jewish ideals and programs.

In addition to the organization’s stated mission and vision, the JCC Manhattan is guided by its Seven Core Values, one of which addresses a common sense of responsibility, believing we are “bound together by a shared commitment to a better, fairer world.” To that end, the JCC has endeavored to reduce its carbon footprint, ridding itself of wasted energy by upgrading its building systems to improve efficiencies and future proof the building from upcoming  NYC Local Laws.

Due to Ecosave’s status as an approved vendor under NYSERDA’s real-time energy management (RTEM) program, additional incentives were secured to drive down the overall project cost.

Energy conservation measures implemented at JCC Manhattan include:

Variable frequency drives (VFDs) on all large pump and fan motors to match output with demand, thereby reducing wasted energy.

Ceiling mounted fan coil units to provide comfort solutions.

New state-of-the-art Building Automation System (BAS) that will enable better control and energy use management. The new BAS will control variable frequency drives, chiller heaters, air handler units, pumps, cooling towers, and the newly installed fan coil units.

Smart kitchen hood exhaust control system.

Pool air handler unit (AHU) replacement.

Pool heating system conversion from electric to gas.

New air conditioning unit in the elevator control room.

Ongoing energy management services delivered via Ecosave Watch to further drive down consumption over time and find equipment anomalies.

Equipment maintenance to ensure energy savings are sustained.
