Scope Of Work
This project consisted of a major plant expansion to add Denitrification Filters to an existing 30 MGD wastewater treatment facility.
The DF Complex includes nine (9) gravel / sand filters each 11’-8” wide by 100’ long and 26’ deep with influent and effluent piping and automatic valve control, air agitation using PD blowers, backwash and backwash waste pumps, automatic controls and a clearwell tank. Flow to the new structure required a new Intermediate PS with four vertical turbine pumps capable of handling the entire plant flow and a new distribution chamber. As part of the process a new Methanol Facility was constructed and a new Filter Meter Vault was required. The project also included extensive site preparation for this project and two future projects which include new water and electrical utilities. Over 3000 lf of 42” to 72” PCCP piping is being laid to transfer plant flow in addition to several thousand feet of smaller diameter ductile pipe lines. An Electrical / Generator Building and Electrical Power Center were installed in this phase to handle the existing plant and new plant power distribution system and it includes new fuel facilities for the generators. The entire system is controlled by a Distributed Control System upgrade to the existing control system. Over 15,500 cy of concrete will be used to construct this project.
