Scope Of Work
Originally constructed in 1927, historical auditorium bell tower at Beverly Vista School underwent major structural reinforcing expansion so it would, once again, become an icon for school district neighborhood.
500-seat auditorium bell tower added three kindergarten classrooms, four multipurpose classrooms, one band room and one choral room. Additionally, a new single stop elevator was added along with new restrooms, storage , electrical room an outdoor play structure for kindergarten children.
Structurally, existing auditorium bell tower received new foundations, floor finishes a steel concrete roof structure. auditorium walls received 12-inch thick rebar shotcrete reinforcing while bell tower received new concrete support columns a tube steel skeleton. existing exterior masonry veneer was cleaned, structurally reinforced restored. new kindergarten classrooms were framed out wood with balance addition being constructed from concrete masonry units structural steel.
addition to receiving new MEP systems finishes throughout, several period items, such as light fixtures, clay roof tiles, wrought iron fencing copper rain gutters/downspouts, were salvaged, restored reused on . Additionally, hand-painted concrete ceiling that greets children, faculty and parents entering bell tower was preserved restored back to its original beauty.
