- Coordination of work onsite to maintain an open and active Parking Apron.
A major issue was a region wide cement shortage. Due to large projects in the area and a lag in restocking, the require cement component of the concrete mixture was at a severe shortage. This was cause for a temporary suspension of work to avoid winter conditions and allow the cement shortage to catch up. Work then began again that following spring with no further issues or delays other than funding approval for additional work to be completed.
The main challenge was coordination of work with base personnel to maintain an active and safe ramp. Close and constant communication allowed for smooth and efficient coordination throughout the project. There were no major issues with coordination between KPH and base personnel.
