Our Story

PDS Engineering & Construction, Inc. was established in September 1965 under the name Pre-Designed Structures, as a construction steel supplier and general construction company. Its founder Guy Jodice, an earlier adopter of technology, saw the opportunity to serve its industrial and commercial customers by offering construction solutions through the developing pre-engineered building products market.

PDS Engineering & Construction, Inc. is now in its second generation with direct family management involvement. Following the company roots of an engineering company performing complex construction projects, the company is now owned by Ronald E. Jodice (BS Chem. E), William L. Jodice (BS CE), Frank C. Borawski (BS CE, P.E., L.S.), Timothy E. Mulcahy (BA BA) and David A. Lucibello (BS AE, LEED AP).

While PDS still captures a high percentage of its early core market in pre-engineered buildings, over time it has branched out to all types of traditional construction in order to provide its customers the most appropriate facility for their needs.

PDS’ growth can be attributed in large part to its reputation as a financially strong construction firm that delivers a quality project to the client through a vast network of subcontractors, suppliers and employees. All are dedicated professionals who want to be part of the winning team at PDS. Add to this reputation PDS’ simple philosophy that a quality project will result in a quality client relationship, and it is evident why 60% of the company's business is repeat customers and referrals.

The company serves its clients in the capacity of General Contractor, Design/Build Contractor, Construction Manager or Project Consultant. PDS is one of the few general contractors in the area that can comfortably perform in both the Design/Build and Bid/Build markets. Its ability to move between these two markets allows PDS to bring the sophistication and capabilities of a large project GC to its small business customers.

As it moves into the next century, PDS is leveraging its experience in constructing high profile Bid/Build projects and the relationships created with area's most notable architectural firms, to build teams capable of executing complex Design/Build projects. This ability provides an important advantage for PDS' customers, whose need for speed is becoming more critical to stay competitive as their project needs become more complex.
