Scope Of Work
This project was challenged by an aggressive schedule, occupied businesses adjacent to the Scoop Shop and a busy Church Street Market Place with tight space constraints. The project was designed to strive for LEED silver accreditation, including high efficiency owner supplied food service equipment. Working with both a local architect and a national branding team from California, all architectural components were not only reviewed for aesthetics, but considered for a greener, more sustainable footprint. This also included the repurposing of a 1977 Volkswagen bus which was modified for installation at the Flagship Scoop Shop.
New storefront doors were installed for better accessibility and tri-folding windows were installed to bring the Market Place’s “street life” into the store.
Creative and innovative ways to maintain schedule, which included a significant amount of off site preparation, pre-fabrication and assembly, were utilized while the existing store was gutted to make way for the new fit-up. The limited space and aggressive schedule required a closely coordinated team of subcontractors and vendors to complete the successful renovation in smooth a well-executed process.
