Scope Of Work
As a result of Hurricane Sandy, Asturian Group was contracted to assist in the refurbishment of various locations throughout the Island. The basic scope of work included the following: 1.) Demo of existing wall systems and abandoned electrical within the basement area of the Main Immigration Building and provide new walls, renovate restroom facilities to include new fixtures, provide new CMU walls and office build-outs, modify HVAC systems and install new lighting as required. Once the overall build-out and upgrades were complete, all of the existing walls were painted and the floors received either an epoxy or sheet vinyl finish. 2.) Replace doors within the New Immigration Building and Ferry Building. This work required us to match existing wood panel doors within the New Immigration Building and refurbish the interior doors and reproduce historically accurate exterior metal doors within the Ferry Building's entryway. 3.) A final component of the project was to supply shore power to an existing barge that supports the various ferry's supporting Ellis Island, Battery Park and Liberty Island. This work required us to provide a new subpanel from an existing panel located within the Ferry Building and run shore power through various disconnects and transformers to receptacles, power poles and lights on the Barge.
