Scope Of Work
This project involved the renovation and expansion of a 1905 Carriage House, situated on the New York Yacht Club's property in Newport, RI. The completely renovated building now has a multi-purpose function room, with a supporting prep kitchen, and new sailing staff offices in the additional space. Trophy and model display cases were incorporated in the public areas on the first floor. New Suites were added to the second floor of the addition, and all suites in the existing Carriage House were also renovated. The new addition blends perfectly with the existing building, making it hard to distinguish between the 1905 and 2007, maintaining the integrity of a hundred years of tradition.
Advanced Building Concepts renovated the existing building, as well as building the addition to the Carriage House, without disturbing the guests that were staying there at the time. The entire building was brought up to current fire codes, including fire alarm and fire protection systems. The HVAC, plumbing and electrical trades were completed on a design-build basis.
