Scope Of Work
The project consisted of a new thirty-two bed dormitory building, containing four townhouse style faculty apartments and day student common space. The project was designed and built with a “green” standard. The building boasts high efficiency whole building heating systems, solar hot-water and high efficient insulation.
Advanced Building Concepts acted as the construction manager to deliver the project within budget and schedule, providing value added upgrades requested by the owner, without exceeding the overall owner’s budget. The work was started in the fall and completed eleven months later meeting the expanded needs for incoming faculty and student housing. The three-story wood and steel framed building, is clad in cedar shingles with a natural stone veneer at the ground level, and a copper roof. Due to the “green” design standard, the building has a state-of-the-art Veissman heating and solar hot water system, low-use water faucets, showerheads and toilets, heat recovery exhaust system and high efficiency spray foam insulation.
