Sorensen Gross has a 90-year tradition of integrity, quality and excellence in the construction industry, and our history has a lot to do with who we are today. Sorensen Gross Construction Company was founded in 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by John Sorensen and Robert Gross. The company moved to Flint in 1927 and quickly established itself as the city's premiere builder.

In 1966, Ghassan Saab, CEO, joined Sorensen Gross and soon realized the opportunity to lead a company with a solid reputation and a loyal, competent staff. With impressive experience and innovative thinking, Richard J. Sly, President, came aboard the Sorensen Gross team in 1972. Together they embody the Sorensen Gross ideal which is commitment to the client through excellence, value, service and integrity.

While best known in our home base of Flint and southeastern Michigan, Sorensen Gross has presences in and has completed projects in the Midwestern, Northeastern and Southeastern United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East. Regardless of project locale, Sorensen Gross is able to develop a construction team to meet any client's needs.

Over the years, projects have grown in size and complexity due to modern technology, tighter budgets and greater time constraints. Responding to meet these needs, Saab and Sly led the company to offer a variety of delivery methods which include Construction Management, Design Build, General Contracting, international services and construction trades. As a way to maintain effectiveness in each of these delivery methods and provide a competitive edge, Sorensen Gross uses its own in-house tradesmen to provide concrete, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry work.

Sorensen Gross has maintained a solid client base in Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Medical, Municipal, and Multi-family Residential building applications. Our contributions to the built environment have ranged in scope and size from minor repair work to the complete construction of hospitals, university buildings, office buildings, mixed-use residential buildings, airports, and water treatment facilities.
