Billy Mcelroy's Bio
With a little bit of sarcasm and a hefty amount of construction experience, Billy McElroy is Senior Vice President and Co-Founder of Shell McElroy. A 30-year-plus veteran of the construction industry, Billy can lead a team through even the most complex operational challenges – from challenging urban sites to complex 50-story high-rise towers to renovations of 5-star occupied hotels. Understanding the impact that workers and subcontracting firms have on each job, Billy has worked tirelessly within organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors and CEFGA to develop and train those serving in the construction industry. He uses this same approach within the operations ranks at Shell McElroy, mentoring, training, and coaching the younger talent to achieve their best. A leader with a servant mindset, Billy leverages his vast knowledge and subcontractor relationships to maximize the outcome of each Shell McElroy project.
Working with nationally top-ranked contractors, Billy has performed in the superintendent and general superintendent role for decades and has put in place over $1 billion worth of work, some of those known as the most complex and technically challenging jobs in the Southeast and Atlanta market. Clients like the University of Georgia, Walt Disney Imagineering, Regent Partners, Marriott International Resorts, and CarterUSA have recognized his contributions.
Jeff Shell's Bio
Jeffrey Shell grew up, looking up – through scaffolding, out of crane baskets, at the rising towers that now define Atlanta. He first walked actual job sites together with his father, and later he worked them, learning the business firsthand from grade school through graduate school. “Building is in my blood,” Jeffrey says. “It’s all I ever wanted to do.”
Now responsible for strategic corporate oversight and development at Shell McElroy, he has his own ideas about legacy building. “I want to honor the values instilled in me from an early age, while creating a more agile, scalable enterprise that embraces technology, sustainability and collaboration with greater openness and transparency.”
Shell will take the lead working with clients and the company’s executive advisory board, and has proven himself an effective community leader, most recently as President, Leadership Buckhead, and Board Chair, City of Atlanta, Neighborhood Planning Unit B.
