Scope Of Work
Valiant was the Prime contractor. All labor, materials, equipment, supervision, Architectural & Engineering services to complete design and construction of a 1000 Niche Columbarium including a 500 marker Memorial Wall and a 2,200 gallon capacity Ossuary (with limestone capped seat walls, a custom fabricated stainless steel access cover and a precast paver plaza) was provided. The Columbarium was constructed of precast concrete niche units capped with engraved smooth-face limestone and faced with brick, white marble niche covers and custom fabricated bronze row markers. The brick and memorial wall facing matches the existing on-site Maintenance/PIC-Administration building brick wall veneer. The precast concrete niche units are all single-sided, 5-high. Additional features of the project included decoratively graveled flower planting areas for visitors, concrete access walkways, visitor benches and irrigated sod & planting beds.
Valiant initially provided 3 design concepts for review and VA approval. The VA review comments were incorporated into final concept drawing. Contract drawings (design) were approved prior to starting construction.
All work was closely coordinated to limit disruption to internment services being conducted within the functioning cemetery.
