BurWil Construction Company has been furnishing Construction Management/General Contractor (CM/GC) services in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia for sixty years. The company was founded in 1962 by the late William C. Burriss, Sr. Mr. Burriss had an extensive and varied construction background while working as a superintendent and project manager / estimator for several large constructions firms prior to founding BurWil. He was known throughout the industry as a honest man of high character and integrity. His core philosophy has remained constant throughout the company’s history and is the foundation of the company’s past and continued success -to provide clients with the professional construction services of the highest level of quality, value, and safety.

BurWil has benefited from strong consistent leadership throughout its history. Mr. Burriss’ son, William C. Burris, Jr., joined the firm full time in 1967 and was instrumental in building the company throughout his tenure as president and CEO until his retirement in 2016. William H. Prince joined the firm in 1986, President/ COO in 2002, president/ CEO in 2017, and CEO in 2022. Mr. Prince has been a key driver of the company’s growth and continued success. The current senior leadership team is rounded out by Mr. Nick Self, who joined the firm in 2001 as VP of Operations, now President as of 2022, and William C. Burriss III, who joined the firm in 2003 as a project manager / estimator and additionally serves as the CFO / Corporate Secretary.
