Scope Of Work
The Lemon Bay High School is a replacement school built in five phases on an active 47-acre campus. The construction expanded student capacity from 1,350 to 2,200. The Balfour Beatty team took a phased approach to keep campus fully operational throughout construction.
The first phase of construction included site remediation and underground utilities. During phase two, the team demolished existing buildings and relocated modular classrooms to allow the next phase of construction. Phase three marked the start of new construction with a three-story classroom building, the main gymnasium and a central energy plant. It was approximately 170,000 square feet and included 30 general classrooms, nine labs, six resource rooms and two skills rooms, two multi-purpose rooms, a fitness center, ROTC area, wrestling room, locker rooms and administration spaces. The fourth phase consisted of a new cafeteria building, band/drama suite, black box and select performing arts center renovations. A two-story administrative, media center and classroom building was built during phase five. The sixth and final phase included technology labs, an auxiliary gym and site work.
