Scope Of Work

When it comes to publicly-funded projects, there can be conflicts between the restrictions placed on the use of certain funds and the desires of property owners. At Fawn Valley – Lower Reach, L4 Environmental worked with the design engineers, property owners, and funding sources to make modifications that maintained the integrity of engineering requirements, but also served the needs of the property owners at Workshire Lodge. Workshire had been in the family since the 1930’s. The Fall River traveled directly through Workshire property and was critical to the outdoor experience enjoyed by the families that have been staying there for decades. Not only was the location of the river channel important for visitors, but also for the accessibility of the wildlife that approached for water and food.

Throughout this project, L4 was able to work with the project designers and engineers to produce solutions that enhanced the overall outcome and satisfaction of all stakeholders. At our own cost, we removed additional sedimentation from the Workshire banks, replaced it with structural fill, and installed topsoil to recreate the original, pre-flood, grassy conditions that made it so suitable for wildlife. Property owners Rusty and Tina were a pleasure to work with, hosted out crew in their cabins during the project, and gave us an opportunity to experience what makes Workshire Lodge so important to the Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park community.
