Larry was born, raised and went to school in the Grand Rapids area. After graduation from high school he began his career in construction, building homes on the reservation. In 1971 Uncle Sam called him to serve in the military for four years. After discharge he was once again back in construction through 1983 when interest rates called for layoffs. Larry went into service management for an auto dealer until 1999 when he decided to start his own construction company and has been building in the Grand Rapids area since. In 2002 he welcomed his nephew as a partner and soon incorporated under the name of Curtiss Construction Incorporated.
Larry has been on the Northern Minnesota Builders Association board of directors for three years and has served one year as it’s president and has been appointed as president for a second term in 2011.
