Cape Dreams Building and Design, LLC. was founded by Paul van Steensel in 2004. Having had the good fortune of working for some of the best builders on Cape Cod for a number of years, he was exposed to many of the intricate facets of the building industry. The company has grown from building decks and replacing windows to building high-end custom homes. The company continues to work with a wide range of clients with projects ranging from small bathroom renovations to some of the most complex custom homes built on the Cape. Paul founded Cape Dreams on the belief that honesty, quality, and professionalism make a lasting impression and truly distinguishes it from our competitors. Of course, these qualities aren’t necessarily chosen, they are most often inherent and simply a reflection of an individual or a teams’ core values: these are the values of Cape Dreams.

Paul was interested in construction from an early age. He spent 6 summers during high school and college cooking at a restaurant in Brewster. Prior to the seasonal restaurant opening, he helped build its decks and perform general carpentry maintenance. After attending the Marshal School of Business at the University of Southern California, he decided to move back to the Cape with the goal of eventually starting his own construction business. He now lives in Orleans with his wife and two sons and enjoys fishing, golf, hockey, windsurfing, and skiing.
