Scope Of Work
After a fire all but destroyed the preexisting restaurant space, the iconic Corner Bar was rebuilt to restore the historic building while updating the interior to better serve loyal customers and the downtown Rockford community.
Originally built in 1873, the two-story brick structure was braced immediately after the fire was contained. Over the course of a few weeks, careful demolition allowed the building’s front façade to remain in-tact while the rest of the footprint was being prepared for a new basement foundation.
The new building is being rebuilt with steel and block construction. The work flow between the kitchen and dining room has improved and the interior is being upgraded. A second-floor event space and outdoor patio is getting added on as well.
