Scope Of Work
Scope of Work
Cianbro completed a phased construction and rehabilitation to the I-95 highway over the Stroudwater River and Maine Central Railroad. Phase 1 included substructure widening with H-pile, cofferdams, and concrete additions to each pier and abutment, followed by the demolition and widening of concrete bridge decks. Phase 1 also included installing new steel girders. Phase 2 involved the replacement of the existing backwalls and wingwalls. This required tying these into existing abutment footings, replacing the second phase of the bridge decks, and placing new pavement.

Lean, Innovative and Unique Project Solutions
Access was a challenge on the project site requiring careful planning for movement of workers as well as storage and delivery of materials. At Stroudwater, the slopes to the river were very steep and the only access to the work zone was directly from the highway. This required detailed access plans including staging and stairways.
