Scope Of Work
Gilbane served as construction manager at-risk for this new high school situated on a 75-acre site. The campus was designed to accommodate more than 3,000 students in a dynamic and collaborative 21st century learning environment. The facility has the flexibility to adapt to the current and future educational needs of the school district with a heavy emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) as well as career and technical education programs such as robotics, biomedical engineering, health sciences, cyber security and alternative energy.
The school provides the foundation for students to move toward careers in high-wage market sectors. The campus includes classroom buildings, a media center, a gymnasium, an administration building, a performing arts center, a music suite and a cafeteria with a possible shared kitchen for a future middle school. This project also included football and baseball/softball fields, outdoor basketball/tennis courts and parking surfaces.
Technology is ubiquitous throughout the entire campus. In addition to the indoor learning environments, the campus includes outdoor learning features such as demonstration photovoltaic panels, learning gardens, and outdoor classroom spaces to promote additional opportunities for learning.
Construction featured concrete tilt wall panels, steel structure and low-slope flat roofs.
